CLAP plugin compatibility.
Spectral Colors audio plugins are built for 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11 and use the open CLAP plugin format. FL Studio, REAPER, and Bitwig Studio officially support CLAP. Installers place each plugin in the standard Windows CLAP folder, then your DAW scans it like any other plugin.
Which DAWs support CLAP?
The table below links to each developer's current documentation. Host support can change, so follow the source link when planning a purchase or moving a project between DAWs.

A host supporting CLAP does not automatically prove that every third-party plugin works perfectly in every host version. Spectral Colors tests product releases individually and lists confirmed hosts on each product page.
How to install a CLAP plugin on Windows
- Download from the official product or account page. Avoid re-hosted installers.
- Run the installer. Keep the standard destination unless you have a specific reason to change it.
- Confirm the CLAP location. The standard system folder is
C:\Program Files\Common Files\CLAP\. - Open your DAW's plugin manager and rescan. FL Studio users should enable verification when troubleshooting a missing plugin.
- Load the plugin and save a small test project. Reopen it once before using the plugin in important work.

If a plugin does not appear
- Confirm that the product supports your operating system and CPU architecture.
- Confirm that your DAW version supports CLAP.
- Check that the plugin exists under the standard CLAP folder.
- Run a full verified rescan, including previously verified plugins.
- Remove unintended duplicate copies from custom scan paths.
- Restart the DAW after an install or update.
- Check the individual product page for latency, host, and version notes.
CLAP or VST3?
Neither format makes audio sound better by itself. Choose a format your DAW supports well and keep using the same plugin identity in a project. CLAP can expose modern modulation and event features when both the plugin and host implement them; VST3 still has broader host and product coverage.
